For organisations operating a large number of trailers, fitting self-contained solar-powered tracking units to individual trailers not only allows monitoring of the units whilst in transit, but, when used in conjunction with door sensors for example, provides an alert system if the doors are opened without authority. Especially helpful where trailers may be parked up and unattended for any length of time.
Trailer Tracking monitors the GPS position of the trailer every 10 minutes, with an option to download the entire movement history logged at 30 second intervals if required. In the event of trailers being moved without authority, an alert can be sent via email or text message to the operator as soon as the trailer is moved outside a pre-programmed geographical area.
The unit battery can either be recharged via the solar cell or from a 12v/24v supply. An alert is automatically sent out if the battery charge is low.
The unit is housed in a strong metal enclosure, sealed to IP65, and can be mounted either internally or externally.
